OnePlus 12 Review: The Smartphone with the brightest display
- 21 Dec, 2023
Introduction
The OnePlus 12 has been officially launched in China and there are a few upgrades that every OnePlus fan should know before buying the OnePlus 12. Earlier OnePlus was known to launch flagship killer but now in the past few years, the brand has focused more on Flagship rather than manufacturing flagship killer handsets. The OnePlus 12 is now bigger, heavier and bulkier because of many inside upgrades. Inside the box, unlike other flagships, you will be getting a 100Watt charger that can charge your phone 0 to 100% in 26 minutes. Let’s dive deeper into the OnePlus 12 Review where you can make the decision whether you will be purchasing this one or going to some other Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chip smartphone.
OnePlus 12 flagship level display
OnePlus 12 comes with the most advanced display in any smartphone ever as the brand has introduced many key features that make this smartphone display stand apart from the competition. The size of the display has been specked up when you compare it with the last-gen OnePlus 11 as OnePlus 12 features a 6.82 inches LTPO 2K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The peak brightness of the OnePlus 12 display is of 4500 nits which is insane as no other brand is close to what they are offering, even the phones coming in the near future are not packaging the display of this brightness level. The HBM brightness mode is of 1600 nits which is nearly double of the last-generation OnePlus phone. The display from the front looks quite impressive with very minimal bezels and sharp details. The output of the display will be among the best in the market and will directly compete with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the upcoming S24 series.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 backing OnePlus 12
All flagship OnePlus flagship phones come with snapdragon 8 series chips that are made to achieve intense performance with great efficiency and OnePlus 12 is not an exception. OnePlus 12 boasts the latest snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset which increases the CPU and GPU performance by 30% & 25% respectively while consuming 20% less power(comparison with last gen chipset). There are a total of four variants starting from 12GB RAM & 256GB storage, 16GB RAM & 512GB, 1TB variant and 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. The good thing about storage and RAM is that OnePlus has provided the best in the market, they have provided LPDDRX5 RAM & UFS 4.0 storage. In many reviews, we saw tech YouTubers playing games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty mobile at a high refresh rate without any frame drops but for an actual performance overview, we need to wait for our final review. OnePlus 12 is a beast when we talk about high-performance smartphones and it scores over 2 million on Antutuu benchmark scoring. On high graphic settings, the phone tends to heat but it can be tackled with a little bit of optimization over time. OnePlus 12 will also feature many AI-centric features that have not been mentioned yet but soon will be there.
OnePlus 12 Camera - What to expect
Here we will be providing OnePlus 12 Camera specifications only as the global unit of the OnePlus 12 hasn’t arrived yet so we need to wait for the actual review but soon on our BuyMobile Blog page, we will be posting a detailed OnePlus 12 Camera review very soon. There are a total of 3 cameras on the back which the primary lens is a 50MP with F1.6 aperture and OIS, a 64MP periscope lens with F2.6 aperture and a 45MP ultra-wide sensor. The primary sensor is exactly the same as what we get in the OnePlus fold but we need to wait a bit more for the actual OnePlus 12 camera review.
OnePlus 12 Charging and Battery Technology - Brand’s USP
OnePlus from the start has been innovating the charging technology, with the OnePlus 12 OnePlus has offered a 100 Watt charger within the box which is unique as other flagship brands do not include a charger within the box. OnePlus 12 is quite a big smartphone according to today’s standards and because of that OnePlus can bundle a big 5400mah battery which is quite impressive as the collaboration of snapdragon 8 gen 3 efficiency and big battery can provide more screen on time to the users. You can charge the OnePlus 12 from 0 to 100% in just 26 minutes with a 100W wired charger and it takes 56 minutes to charge full from a 50W wireless fast charger.
OnePlus 12 Release Date in Australia
OnePlus 12 has been already launched in China but for the global launch, OnePlus fans have waited for a while. OnePlus 12 will be released on January 24 2024 in Australia and other regions of the world. The expected price of the OnePlus 12 in Australia would start from $1120. There will be a total of four variants with different RAM and storage options to choose from.
Is it worth waiting for the OnePlus 12 in Australia?
OnePlus 12 is a classic example of a great package that is priced honestly. Right now in Australia, we don’t have any new smartphone that has been launched with Snapdragon 8 gen 3 so it will be better to wait for the new OnePlus 12 as it is coming soon with loads of exciting features. In fact you can wait for other upcoming flagship smartphones too like Galaxy S24 series, Xiaomi 14 series etc. So if you want to have a new flagship smartphone for the upcoming year it is advisable to wait as many new features are about to rock the smartphone world.
