This new launch by OnePlus is going to take place in early 2022. The release date is not yet known for the OnePlus 10 series but we can expect it to be out in March just like the previous launches. OnePlus 10 could be the next big premium smartphone in the market. The tech company is likely to launch a Pro sibling in the first half of 2022 with its other top-end smartphone rivals. There are no rumours in regards to any major design updates but the OnePlus 10 so far justifies its other hardware and software upgrades.

New OnePlus unified OS - The OnePlus & OPPO Collaboration

The OnePlus 10 series is set for a big change when it comes to its software. The 10 series phones will debut a brand-new software, which will combine OnePlus’s own Android fork called OxygenOS, with that of its sibling Oppo's ColorOS. Both the companies are set to merge their respective Android into a single, unified smartphone operating system. The OnePlus 10 will be the first OnePlus device to use the new operating system.

With this collaboration, the company wishes to combine the best of both software. The new operating system will be a mix of the fast and smooth experience of OxygenOS along with the stability and rich features of ColorOS. The new OS is still unnamed but looks quite capable of combining the strengths of both systems into one powerful operating system. It was also announced that older OnePlus devices, up to and including the OnePlus 8, will be able to upgrade eventually.

The resemblance of Oppo in OnePlus design

The new flagship device is the first product announced after the OnePlus and Oppo merger. OnePlus and Oppo smartphones will continue to have distinct identities but a unified global operating system. As of now, the OnePlus 10 series is not going to have any major design upgrades. It is said to have a very similar design to the OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus 10 might look like a polished version of the previous line. It is also possible that the OnePlus 10 will come with three cameras, as has been the case with the OnePlus 9 and the few previous models.

Hasselblad integrations making the camera better than before

OnePlus had partnered with Hasselblad for the 9-series cameras in 2021. The expectations are quite high from the camera setup of the new OnePlus line. Hasselblad and OnePlus had committed to a three-year partnership to focus on camera software, color tuning, and sensor calibration. Since the OnePlus 9 was the first phone to feature Hasselblad cameras, it is almost certain that the OnePlus 10 and even the next one will as well. We can expect a high-performing camera and lenses from the OnePlus 10 series because of its Hasselblad-centric camera additions.

Another noteworthy addition to the OnePlus 10 series is said to be the Snapdragon 898, Qualcomm’s new generation flagship chip. Snapdragon 898 advances by leaps and bounds in performance. This new processor will have a three-cluster CPU design built on 4nm technology. The Snapdragon 898 is bound to improve the overall performance of the OnePlus 10 series and make it the flagship for next year.

Stable updates with OnePlus new launch

The OnePlus 10 series is rumoured to have some of the most refreshing updates as compared to its previous lines. The company is giving stable updates in terms of camera, storage, processor, and more to the new series. It is tipped that the OnePlus 10 will come with 8 GB of RAM + 128 GB of internal storage. It might also be packed with a 5000 mAh battery that will let you enjoy playing games, listening to songs, and more for a longer duration. It will not be incorrect to expect durability, fast charging, camera improvements, and more from the tech giant. The company has tried to put together the best of all departments in its new to-be-launched line of smartphones.

OnePlus 10 series expected release date

Looking at the previous launch dates we can guess that OnePlus operates in an annual cycle. This stands as a solid reason to believe that we could see the OnePlus 10 launch in the same window in 2022. From the gathered information it is safe to guess that the OnePlus 10 series could launch in March 2022 and be available to buy by April 2022.
