- 10 Sep, 2021
The yearly tradition of much-anticipated new Apple devices
With Apple’s online-only event just a few days around the corner, we are waiting to see the lineup of the new devices. The tech giant is a creature of habit and that means we can expect at least one big event featuring newer and updated products this year. Apple usually holds a launch event in the months of September and October to unveil its new wave of products. For obvious reasons, these devices are kept under wraps until their unveiling, but with the ubiquity of online leaks and rumours these days, nothing stays hidden for long. If you combine the rumours with Apple's history, unexpected filings, and what we already know is in the works, you can get a very solid picture of what's on the way. Read below to know of the new Apple products we anticipate seeing in the event.
Apart from the new Apple iPhone, what else can we expect?
As we inch closer and closer to Apple’s event, the hype for the unpacking of the new devices is growing too. With the much-anticipated iPhone 13, rumours also suggest that we will see newer versions of the Apple Watch, AirPods, Macbook, and iPad. They are expected to debut with a whole collection of new features, upgraded camera specifications, a wide range of colour options, and also updated design elements.
Apple iPhone 13 - The centre of attraction
As per the recent reports and rumours, we will most likely see the unpacking of the iPhone 13. Apple has released a new iteration of its smartphone every year since 2007 and this year is expected to be no different. Based on the rumours, iPhone 13 is expected to feature a faster A15 chip and a reduction of the notch at the top of the screen. Further, we are expecting a revamp of the camera with a boost with portrait video mode, extra filters, and LiDAR support.
We are expecting the 13 series to bring four new devices - the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max - in very similar sizes and styles to the iPhone line-up models. Reports suggest that iPhone 13 will feature a big battery,120hz refresh rate, and wireless charging which is expected to be welcomed with open arms, if true. The iPhone 13 and Apple’s other new devices will also be running an updated OS, which for the iPhone is iOS15.
The all-square designed Apple watch series 7
Apple's September event usually introduces the new Apple Watch models, and we've already heard a lot of speculation regarding the Series 7. The Apple Watch Series 7 is anticipated to be the biggest and most significant overhaul since the Series 3 to Series 4 transition. Some renderings of the new design have surfaced, and it appears to feature a build with flatter sides and a larger screen.
The display is also expected to be upgraded, maybe with a MicroLED panel, and the battery is expected to be larger as a result of a smaller and more powerful processing unit. In terms of new health features, it's been reported that Apple is working on a means to monitor blood sugar levels via the Watch, but it's unclear when this will be available.
New AirPods Pro 3 - The music industry champ
The AirPods Pro was announced in 2019 and the highly pricey over-ear AirPods Max was released late last year, so we're long overdue for some entry-level Apple headphones. The rumored AirPods 3 will be released later this year and will most likely lack the advanced ANC and ambient sound settings seen in the AirPods Pro but may offer features like spatial audio and pressure sensor. However, we are most likely going to see them redesigned with a shorter stem and a smaller case, as well as replaceable ear tips similar to the AirPods Pro.
New iPad 2021 - the ultimate tech companion
The iPads, along with the new iPhones, are usually a must-have, although the new iPad Pro was released earlier this year. Experts believe that a new iPad Mini, as well as the ninth version of iPad (iPad 9), will be released at the upcoming event. The new iPad Mini (number 6 currently) will be completely redesigned and will include an A15 CPU, USB-C port, and Smart Connector. The new iPad model, the ninth generation, is also rumored to be thinner and faster than its predecessor.
Expected Prices
The Apple event is always full of surprises where the evolution of new technologies gathers tech enthusiasts all over the world. Every year before the event many rumours about the price of upcoming launches arises. This year iPhone 13 lineup, new iPads, Apple Watch 7, AirPods 3 are expected to launch. The expected pricing of the iPhone 13 lineup in Australia could be - iPhone 13 Mini(64 GB)- $1,199 iPhone 13(64 GB) - $1,349 iPhone 13 Pro(128 GB) - $1699, whereas Apple Watch 7 could launch at a starting price of $399 and AirPods 3 could launch at $399.
Conclusion
We are expecting a wide range of products to make appearances apart from iPhone 12 at the event. Apple almost always unveils the new iPhones and Apple Watch during an event in September. Specifically, this event almost takes place in the second full week of September on a Tuesday or Wednesday. True to form, Apple has sent out invitations to a Special Event on Wednesday, September 15 3:00 am in Australia.
The event tagline and imagery often give us a clue as to what will be announced, but this year it is rather vague. We know Apple is the master of its destiny so we can never be certain how many different announcements we could get before the end of 2021.But as we near Apple’s fall event, we cannot contain the excitement. We cannot wait to see what the tech giant unveils this historic year.
