Samsung has successfully turned the market towards the Galaxy S23 series. This is the company’s next-generation high-end smartphone lineup which includes three smartphones. According to reports, the Galaxy S23 Ultra brings the biggest improvement in camera performance in the past five years. This is something everyone is looking forward to. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumoured to have a 200MP camera with an entirely new ISOCELL sensor with a 1/1.3" sensor size and other improvements. The ISOCELL module used in S23 Ultra will differ from the currently available options. This new one sits somewhere between the spec on the ISOCELL HP1 and the HP3. However, official news about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series can be expected near early 2023.
The Galaxy S23 series brings a whole year full of refinement and major developments. The excitement around Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is justified as this smartphone represents the biggest leap in a Samsung flagship camera in five years. This is definitely something that the company needs to deliver in order to keep up with the hype. Although, the S23 Ultra does have the potential to be the most exciting Samsung flagship device in the coming time. If the tech giant delivers what is being promised, the Galaxy S23 Ultra can easily defeat most other competing high-end smartphones with its camera quality. Check out the camera and other features in detail.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s Design
As per reports, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will most probably come with a 6.8-inch display. The upcoming smartphone’s approximate dimensions are 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.8mm which is slightly wider than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The smartphone is promised to have the slimmest bezel we have seen in the S series phone so far. We can expect some improvements in terms of peak brightness, colour accuracy, lowest screen reflectance, and HDR performance. The power and the volume buttons are placed at the right spine of the device. While the speaker grille, USB type-C port, and SIM tray can be seen at the bottom side of the smartphone.
The placement of the camera module seems similar to what we have seen in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The only major change here is that the two small sensors on the right side are flushed in the rear panel. Also the side curves of the smartphone are not that curved this time. On the front, the reports suggest thin bezels all around with a punch-hole at the top middle for the placement of the front camera. Overall, the Galaxy S23 Ultra looks like a S22 Ultra with squared-off corners, a curved display and individually embedded cameras on the back.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung's most photography focused smartphone. It is expected to feature a 200MP camera sensor. The camera will have ISOCELL sensor with a 1/1.3" sensor size and will also feature a 0.6μm pixel size with an f/1.7 aperture. Samsung did a smart job by revealing the ISOCELL HPX to have excellent low-light capabilities as well. The smartphone packs a 200 MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, two 10MP telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x zoom, and a 40MP selfie camera with OIS. The Galaxy S23 Ultra has closely inherited the camera design from the S22 Ultra and will likely keep the existing 10MP periscope module. The camera improvements will enable S23 Ultra to bring obvious, notable improvements to nighttime photos along with nighttime videos. This could be Samsung’s ultimate winning formula for the upcoming 2023 flagship.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s other specs
The Galaxy S23 Ultra can easily defeat most other competing high-end smartphones with its long list of mind blowing features and specs. The phone is rumoured to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor along with 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. The battery capacity stays the same at 5000 mAH. Some leaked benchmarks reveal that The S23 Ultra achieves a single-core score of 1,521 and a multi-score one of 4,689. Tipsters have also pointed out that the camera has unparalleled computational skills and will set some trends in the smartphone market. All three models of the S23 family will have four colour options namely beige, black, green, and light pink.
Everyone is particularly interested in the rumoured 200MP camera, new chipset’s performance, battery life and how the device functions overall. Galaxy S23 Ultra is not one of the smartphones where users have to worry about making an upgrade. While only one of five total cameras seem to be getting a major upgrade, hopefully Samsung will have some new software enhancements to cover up the rest. Galaxy S23 Ultra is undoubtedly offering a huge upgrade compared to previous Galaxy S Ultra phones. These are notable and groundbreaking improvements that one will not want to miss out on.
