- 27 Sep, 2022
Introduction
Apple’s "Far Out" event in September 2022 is over and has been all over the news. As expected, many Apple products, including iPhones and the Apple Watch, received upgrades and overhauls. Apple added the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, the new Apple Watch 8 and two other additions to its wearable portfolio, and the improved AirPods Pro 2 in a 90-minute presentation. A few software innovations that could improve the usability of Apple goods were also introduced. One may feel that is a lot of announcements for one day, but if there is one thing that unites all the new features, it is Apple's desire to make its products even more indispensable. Here is a list of everything Apple announced during its event in September 2022. Read below to know more!
Apple iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max - That’s a real update
For all the Apple crazies and lovers chasing the flagship, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. These two phones include the improved A16 Bionic processor, the first to use a 4nm manufacturing technique for significantly more power in a smaller form factor. The Pro and Pro Max are available from September 16 for the same prices as the previous generation: $999 (AUD 1500) for the Pro and $1,099 (AUD 1650) for the Pro Max. Since more power is always desirable, Apple also made some additional advancements. For improved low-light performance, the new 48MP camera sensor is 65 per cent larger than the previous generation. Additionally, you receive a set of 12MP cameras for telephoto and ultrawide pictures as well as the Apple Watch Series 8's motion sensors for accident reporting and detection. Further, the phones also feature thinner bezels as well as the Retina XDR display for which Apple claims that it can top out at 2000 nits of peak brightness. Lastly, the Pro models come with an always-on display feature, which allows the screen to dim and go down to as little as a 1Hz refresh rate.
Apple iPhone 14 & 14 Plus - Advance camera with other updates
Apple began its announcements with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, concentrating the second half of the event on the future iPhone 14 range. The new Plus model offers a somewhat larger choice, with a screen size of 6.7 inches, while the original model keeps its 6.1-inch screen. The price of the iPhone 14 is $799 (AUD 1200), and the price of the Plus is $899 (AUD 1400). The event suggested that both are available on September 16 and October 7, respectively. The A15 Bionic processor from Apple, which powered the iPhone 13 Pro previous generation, is present in both devices. They also include an enhanced 12-megapixel camera, an aluminum shell, and a screen covered with Ceramic Shield glass.
Apple Watches 2022 - 3 Watches for Every User
And yes, this is the year of Apple Watches. Apple is releasing three different smartwatches. The Apple Watch Series 8 is the middle child, with Apple Watch Ultra being the most powerful and Apple Watch SE being the smallest. Despite not being necessary for everyone, the most powerful member includes all the bells and whistles that will satisfy any enthusiast of an endurance sport. The Watch SE lacks the always-on and blood oxygen saturation functions since many people aren't interested in such features. The Watch Series 8 is a gadget with a fantastic combination of features that appeal to a large population. Apple has made sure that there is something for everyone by extending the range of pricing points it offers by adding Ultra.
Apple Watch Series 8 - The future of health on your wrist
And so, it is here! Apple not only unveiled the much talked about Apple Watch Series 8. But is it something to celebrate or just a quick money grab? It seemed inevitable that the Apple Watch sector would experience some change in 2022. Compared to the Series 6, the Apple Watch Series 7 was an iterative improvement that added a larger screen while maintaining largely the same functions. And the Apple Watch Series 8 promises a greater advancement with features like a temperature sensor that can measure your body's temperature every five seconds and a heart-rate monitor. In terms of design, it's essentially the same as the most recent models but it seems like a missed opportunity to introduce a more distinctive design, especially given that the new SE and Ultra share a lot of similarities. Further, the Series 8 has an always-on display as expected, is dust-proof beyond the needs of even the most careless user, is swim-proof, and boasts a display that is both edge-to-edge and crack-resistant. The Series 8 also incorporates blood oxygen sensors, an ECG monitor, fall detection, sleep tracking, and other features.
Apple Watch SE 2022 - Everything you need
Apple appears to be copying the iPhone SE's naming scheme by ending its less expensive entry-level smartphones with a year rather than a number. The starting price of the most recent Apple Watch SE has been reduced to $249 (AUD 399), and it now includes the crash detection and low-battery mode features featured in the Apple Watch 8. The new Apple Watch SE 2 resembles its predecessor almost exactly from the front. It still comes in 40 and 44mm sizes and has an aluminum finish. Like before, cellular and Wi-Fi choices are available. The Retina OLED display, together with the digital crown, side button, and speaker grill, are the focal points of the new watch's design. And yes, there are three colours of the Watch: silver, midnight, and starlight.
Apple Watch Ultra - For those who never limits
Instead of calling its tough wristwatch the speculated Apple Watch 8 Pro, the company has chosen another name. The Apple Watch Ultra is targeted at athletes, adventurers, and other enthusiasts who work and play in extreme conditions. It boasts an impressive set of features along with a 49mm size and a battery life that is double the standard. Apple also promises GPS tracking that is more accurate. The starting pricing for the Apple Watch Ultra is $799 (AU$1,299, less than the $999 we had anticipated).
Apple AirPods Pro - Uplifted for new-age music
One of the most widely anticipated announcements at Apple Event 2022 was the AirPods Pro 2 and it was fulfilled. The new AirPods Pro 2022 now come with an additional extra small ear-tip size and still has silicone tips. Apple has included sliding controls for volume control and touch controls for media playing, allowing users to adjust the volume with a few quick swipes on their earphones. Further, the H2 chip inside the earphones powers additional functions like noise cancellation that is twice as effective as the original AirPods Pro. A new low-distortion audio driver and what Apple refers to as a bespoke amplifier are also included allowing customers to hear a fuller audio spectrum. Additionally, the new AirPods Pro offer quick pairing with Apple devices, stem-controls for Siri, and a longer battery life that Apple claims may last 30 hours with Active Noise Cancellation activated. The new charging case can be charged via an Apple Watch charger, a MagSafe charger, or a Qi-certified charging mat. The charging case has a built-in speaker to enable location when needed and is sweat- and water-resistant as well. So, if you are looking to buy AirPods Pro 2, the answer is YES.
