Google Pixel 6 Leaks: Pricing, Specs and Launch Date
- 12 May, 2021
Introduction
Google’s Pixel smartphones are most definitely some of the best handsets money can buy. The internet giant has yet again managed to create a buzz in the smartphone market with the hint of another launch. Google has always delivered a Pixel that people have loved.
The excellent Pixel 5 is Google’s current flagship phone but we are expecting a successor, Google Pixel 6 soon. There is no need to mention the excitement and thrill created just by the rumors and expected launch date of Google Pixel 6.
Google Pixel 6: Whole Line Up
As the Pixel range seems to be giving one hit after another, our high expectations from Google Pixel 6 are justified. Google is rumored to be working on a couple of smartphones at the moment, including Pixel 5a 5G and Pixel 6. The previous Pixels have had an XL version of them including the last Pixel 4 XL. Google Pixel 5 was the first to be not joined by an XL version.
Google has made frequent changes in all Pixel specs. Google Pixel 5 might have dropped some advanced features but it fell into a mid-ranged priced phone category. Whereas Pixel 4a was the company’s take to make Pixel 4 affordable. Pixel 4 remained on top of everyone’s list for a very long time mostly because of the top-end camera, high-quality display, two selfie cameras, and few other neat features designed just for the Pixel 4.
Google Pixel 4a , Pixel 3, Pixel 3a were all great phones but lacked something or the other in terms of battery life, camera capabilities, slow processor, etc. But this will all be put to the past with the new launches of the Google Pixel line.
Following the legacy: Camera Specifications
Pixel range holds a strong reputation for excelling in the camera department. The thrill is seen in the market expecting the telephoto lens to return to the Pixel line. The most familiar rumor about the Pixel 6 camera is that it may feature an under-display front camera.
There are not a lot of well-acknowledged leaks available for the Pixel 6 camera but it would not be too much to expect features like the Night Sight. Google Pixel phones are praised for their excellent camera offerings so we fully expect the Pixel 6 to continue on this path.
What’s new in the General Specs
While the previous Pixel handsets have set standards in the camera department, this time around the company seems to be experimenting with another segment of surprise. Google has been playing around with different design aesthetics, we can expect Pixel 6 to come with cosmetic changes too. There are a few things Pixel 6 is expected to deliver for its specs, check them out:
A new display panel with a higher refresh rate
We have observed a major focus on the display refresh rate for smartphones. Google will not back off from participating in this trend. These refresh rates are better for rendering fast-moving content such as sports and games, resulting in minimum blur or lag. Hence it would not be totally unreasonable to expect it to go from 90Hz to 120Hz for Pixel 6.
New processor with new android
Google is most definitely bringing in some new changes for the handsets to come. Rumors suggest that Google is working on its own system-on-chip, which will be called Whitechapel. The best part is that it's claimed it could offer a similar performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series. This could be a game-changer for Google in the market.
Enhanced battery
Previous Pixel phones have struggled a little in terms of their battery life. Google could use this to its benefit by giving customers the ideal battery support with Pixel 6. But for starters, we are expecting at least 4000mAH or possibly more.
Expected launch date
Looking at the previous trends of Pixel releases, we can expect a yearly lineup. From the preceding launch dates of Google Pixels, we can expect Pixel 6 also in the fall of 2021. Since Pixel 5a is also rumored to release this year, Pixel 6’s date cannot be guessed perfectly at this point. But Google has been very predictable while rolling out its Pixel flagships, so we can take a shot at expecting Pixel 6 around September or October this year.
All about pricing
Google has been a little erratic with its pricing strategy for Pixel flagships. While Pixel 3 and 4 were modeled with premium pricing, Pixel 5 was mid-ranged and affordable. It is quite hard to take a guess on the Pixel 6 price but we can expect it to be somewhere in between. There are still high chances that the product will return to the top end of pricing because of the unique specs.
What’s new from the last google pixel 5
If not anything Google Pixel 6 is most expected to take the Pixel flagship a notch up. The setbacks of Pixel 5 in terms of processor and battery life should be covered with this new release. Unlike the previous handsets, Pixel 6 is most likely to have Google’s in-house chip. Also, Google Pixel 6 might have a 120Hz refresh rate, which is better than its predecessors since they only had a 90Hz refresh rate. This new launch is also rumored to have an advanced camera feature including an under-display front camera. Maintaining the high reputation of the previous phones, Google Pixel 6 will most definitely enhance the photography experience of the users.
Conclusion
There are a lot of unanswered questions about the Google Pixel 6, these rumors can only help you make a rough judgment about the launch for the time being. The Pixel 6 price, camera quality, launch date are all a bunch of expected numbers as of now, but we can expect official confirmation anytime soon. If we were to deduce anything from Google's previous efforts and prevailing standards, we know Google will certainly magnify its presence in the market with the help of Pixel 6. There is nothing that Pixel phones cannot deliver.
